A Brief History
The Charbonneau Arts Association (C.A.A.) was started in 1982 by a small group of Charbonneau artists, as a place for them to share their love of art with others. From there it has grown to one of the largest festivals in the area (and the oldest), with professional artists now coming from many surrounding cities as we’ll as separate gallery just for student artists from Wilsonville and Canby high schools.
CAA recently redefined the organization slightly to include more opportunities throughout the year to enjoy and learn about both fine arts and performing arts as well. The CAA itself meets monthly throughout the year and welcomes new members.
The Mission
The mission of the Charbonneau Art Association (CAA) is to provide a venue for the appreciation and promotion of visual arts and other fine arts, create opportunity for local public high school students to exhibit and demonstrate their art and provide ongoing support for the public school art programs in the Wilsonville and Canby areas of Clackamas County.
Charbonneau Arts Festivals
The annual fine arts fundraiser is a 3-day art festival, featuring the work of artists local and beyond. All types of hand crafted, painted and sculpted art are represented including outdoor art, literary art, music and glass art, as well as the more traditional subjects.
A second annual performing arts fundraiser is a 2-day music festival featuring the work of local professional and student musicians. All types of performing arts are represented; 2025 will feature “blues” themed groups, while the monthly music stage concert series features many other genres include electric, acoustic, and choirs performances.
