Press Release. 10.1.17
Eric Hoem, President, Charbonneau Art Association

The purpose of the Charbonneau Art Association is to raise funds to support art education in our two local high schools, Wilsonville and Canby.  Our annual Charbonneau Art Festival, which will be the first weekend in November this year, raises part of our goal, but getting sponsors on board prior to the event contributes a lot, too.

This is what gets the fund-raising ball rolling for us.

This year’s fund-raising chair is Joan Vedder.  This summer her emphasis has been on gaining sponsorships . . . and she has been successful.  “I am very persistent,” Joan says.  And that quality pays off.

Former sponsors Green Realty and Republic Services have continued their support for the Charboneeau Art Festival.  But Joan has also brought on board two new sponsors:  Parker Johnstone’s Wilsonville Honda and Wilsonville Carpet and Tile.

Also, as sponsors, Joan lists Chuck Eggelston of Remax Realty and Amy Costello, Windermere Charbonneau.  All these sponsorships are now posted on our website, charboart.com.  Check it out.

But Joan keeps working.  Even though she has already exceeded her sponsorship goal for this year, she asked for a deadline extension for sponsors until mid-September, so she could keep working to find more sponsors.  Way to go, Joan!

As you read this, Joan has shifted gears and is now working on contributions for the silent auction that is planned for Friday evening, November 3.  “Our Festival comes close to the start of the holiday season,” Joan says, “ and I want to have a super big selection of auction items and gift baskets that will be perfect for the holidays.”

Anyone interested is making a contribution or helping Joan with the silent auction can contact her at 503-694-5637 or orego3239@aol.com.  The Charbonneau Art Association is now an official 501(c)(3) organization, so any contributions are eligible for tax deduction.

Mark your calendar for Charbonneau Art Festival, November 3, 4, and 5.  Then, be sure to come and enjoy the Festival.
