“If this band appeared in New York City, they’d be a sensation”

–  George Benson, Grammy Award-Winning Guitarist and one-time Mel Brown bandmate.

The Mel Brown Organ Group has thrilled audiences wherever they’ve played. They were the featured act at Portland’s top jazz club, Jimmy Mak’s (every Thursday night for the entire 20-year run of that legendary jazz venue) and they continue that tradition at the Jack London Revue (home to the band for the past 3 years). They’ve performed at the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, The Britt Festival, The Mt. Hood Jazz Festival, the Rose City Festival, the Bite of Oregon, The Port Townsend Jazz Festival, Jazz in the Valley, the Newport, OR Jazz Festival, Jazz at the Oxford, the Montavilla Jazz Festival, and many more.

The Mel Brown Group performance will cap the full-day Jazz@Charbonneau music festival featuring Sarah Saul Combo at Noon and Verve and Wyndham Hill recording artist, Tom Grant at 3:00 p.m. Kevin Karrick will return again this year to perform on Friday evening at the Opening Night Gala.
